The Ultimate Unbaked Brownies
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups loosely packed pitted dates
1 1/2 cups walnuts
1/2 cup plus 2 Tbsp. cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted coconut oil
Preparation
1. In a bowl combine dates, nuts, 6 tbsp of cacao powder, 1 and 1/2 tsp of vanilla, 2 tsp of water and salt, or you may use a food processor for this. Combine till smooth.
2. Prepare the bakign dish and line with a cookie sheet or parchment paper. Add the dough in it and press evenly.
3. In another bowl, combine the remaining ingredients - cacao powder, vanilla, maple syrup and oil. Stir very well as this will be your frosting! Add it on top of the pressed dough. Refrigerate this for at least 2 hours. Then cut them into squares. No baking required!! Enjoy. This may be stored for up to 2 weeks in your fridge. Yum!
