Simple Ways to Spruce Up Your Workout Hair

Tools laid out to improve workout hair.
I’ll admit, I can push myself farther in a workout when I’m feeling great. Can you relate? That’s why I make sure to have workout clothes that I love and put a few extra minutes into my workout hair so that it stays out of my face and looks good.

Here are my workout hair tips for looking and feeling your greatest to achieve maximum results in your workout!

Braids: Braids are an amazing way to give your workout hair some excitement without putting too much into it. You can do a small french braid across the top and pin it in to keep your bangs tidy. Or, you can do a large french braid down the side of your head and connect it a low pony for some cool texture. Another way to use a braid is by securing a pony and braiding just the pony, this can be done with a high, medium or low pony. If you don’t know how to braid, check out Youtube for helpful tutorials.

Headbands: Headbands offer a multitude of options when it comes to your workout hair. You can find solid color, cotton headbands or add extra excitement with more decorative headbands. The options are endless! I like the look of multiple thin strap headbands that add additional staying power to the hair. Check out little boutiques or Etsy shops to find the most unique headbands - they make great gifts!

Sleep Crimp: If you are going to be working out the morning, put your hair in a quick braid before you go to sleep so it has a nice crimp when you wake up. Workout hair looks awesome with some leftover curl - every pony tail is better with a little wave and added volume!

Top Knot Bun: I find this style to be best for keeping workout hair out of the face. Put your hair in a pony on top of your head. Twist the pony and secure with an elastic and a few bobby pins. I love this one with a fun headband!

Twist: You can add some flair to your workout hair by adding a few twists. You can do a french twist across the top of your head and pin it in to secure bangs and fly aways, or you can twist two sections around either side of the hair and connect at the back for a more whimsical look.

It’s worth putting a little extra effort into feeling great before a workout so you have the confidence to push yourself to the limits. Try a few of these tips for your workout hair and let me know how it works for you!
